  • Patents and Publications: 11 US patents and 47 journal/conference publications
  • Authorship: Author of “Temporal Data Mining”, CRC Press, March 2010.
  • Machine Learning/Data Analysis: (a) patented technology for the analysis of CT Images to determine the presence of pulmonary tissue pathology (b) patented technology for the measurement of cardiac calcification in CT images (c) patented a decision support system for adaptive hybrid reasoning.
  • Image Processing: Co-inventor of the ‘blue noise mask’, a patented widely-used image compression and display (halftoning) technology, licensed by more than a dozen companies, including Hewlett-Packard and Lexmark.

Project Leadership and Key Contributions

  • Harvard Medical School: As part of the algorithm team, contributed to the development of a method for the early detection of diabetic neuropathy (Diabetes Care Journal 2009).
  • UMASS-Dartmouth: (a) As part of the research investigator team, guided the development of a handheld decision support system for novice nurses. (b) Guided the development of an evolvable framework for rapid application development of medical image processing web services.
  • GE Healthcare: (a) Led the software team for the development of an imaging application that measures the amount of cardiac calcification from cardiac CT images.(b) Managed the software development process of an MR image filtering software product, which enhances the quality of MR images.
